Skin exposure to UV induced epidermal and dermal hyperplasia.
Subacute UV irradiation induced a robust tissue response with a large influx of CD45+ cells; this response peaked at 24h.
Following UV irradiation, the proportion of T cells decreased to ~8% at 24h before returning to No-UV irradiation levels at 72h.
Monocytes, macrophages and neutrophils in skin increased after UV irradiation, and the infiltration reached peak at 24h.
UV irradiation induced production of proinflammatory cytokines and type I IFN; this response peaked at 3 hours.
